A new laneway bar has hit Sydney courtesy of the team behind Tokyo Bird and Osaka Trading Co.
Bancho Bar is located in Chinatown on Thomas Lane and will offer cocktails with Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai influences alongside a diverse range of whiskies from around the globe.
“Our focus will be great cocktails and whisky, with the cocktail list to feature Asian produce and ingredients from local markets and grocery stores,” says owner-operator Jason Ang.
The venue will also be introducing a bottle program, where regulars will be able to purchase bottles and leave them in a dedicated locker for a return visit. “Bottle keep programs are common in Asia,” says Ang. “At Bancho we’ll have more than 30 locker spaces for bottles.”
Food options will revolve around skewers covering panko-crumbed meat and veg options.
Bancho is open Monday to Saturday from 4pm until late.
