With the kind and generous support of the City of Sydney, we are proud to announce ‘Curated by Banchō’ – our inaugural local emerging artists program kicking off in February 2021.
Commencing in February 2021, we’ll be featuring the works of an emerging artist on or within the walls of our Haymarket small bar each month. Visual, literary, performing or even culinary arts – we’re up for it all. We’re looking forward to meeting and showcasing emerging artists from all across Sydney to our Banchō community and beyond.
We still have a few spots open for the program in 2021 – we’re looking for a mix of artists across the range of visual, literary, performing and culinary arts, with works themed around the ideas of COMMUNITY, DIVERSITY and/or RESILIENCE.
Banchō will be able to exhibit up to seven physical artworks on the internal walls, or up to five standing pieces (depending on size and types of works), or accommodate four-to-five performances per month (likely on Tuesday or Wednesday nights). See photos below of our wall spaces.
